The 4th Convocation of the Southeast University (SEU) was held on Saturday at Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC) on Saturday.
On behalf of the President, Chancellor of SEU Md Abdul Hamid, Education Minister, Nurul Islam Nahid, MP confered degrees upon the graduates students. Prof Dr M Anwar Hossain, former Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Technology (IUT, OIC) and Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) was the Convocation Speaker.
Brigadier General (Retd) Md Anwarul Islam, ndc, psc, G+, Registrar, conducted the Convocation.
Among others, Md Rezaul Karim, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, SEU Trust and Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Anwar Hossain spoke on the occasion.
Members of the Trustee Board, members of Academic Council and Syndicate, Vice Chancellors of different universities, Government and Corporate high officials were also present in the ceremony.
A total of 1079 students who graduated from various programs of the University attended the convocation.
Md Aminur Rahman Turza, a student of School of Business Studies, SEU, completed his BBA Degree with a CGPA of 3.99 and became the recipient of Chancellor’s Gold Medal for the year 2011.
Md Ashaduzzaman Rubel Mondol, a student of the School of Science and Engineering, SEU, completed his B.Sc. in ETE degree with a CGPA of 4.00 and became the recipient of Chancellor’s Gold Medal for the year 2012.
On the basis of highest CGPA obtained, 6 students from School of Business Studies, 6 from School of Science and Engineering and 6 from School of Arts and Social Sciences received the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal for the undergraduate program for the year 2011-2012.
For the graduate programs, 2 students from School of Business Studies and 2 from School of Arts and Social Sciences received the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal for the year 2011- 2012. Nazmus Sakib, Vice Chancellor’s gold medal winner in Bachelors and Masters program in English delivered the Valedictorian speech.
