M M Jasim :
The Education Ministry is going to take initiative to form a Service Commission to appoint teachers in non-government schools across the country, Education Ministry sources said.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told the journalists that the Public Service Commission would be formed soon.
The DCs also demanded in the conference to form an independent commission to check the anomaly in appointing teachers in the non-government schools all over the country recently.
Sources said, the managing committees of the schools want to appoint teachers by underhand dealings. They sometimes appoint unqualified teachers on the basis of partisan and money. The DCs realised the matter and requested the government to take appropriate initiatives to save the country’s education system.
The Education Minister also admitted that the members of managing committees interfered in appointing teachers. They try to mislead the headmaster and other teachers. Sometimes the local MPs want to appoint teachers as their wish. As a result, the qualified candidates cannot get job easily, he said.
“We are trying to reduce political interference in the schools. That is why we took policy that an MP could be chairman of four schools. It will help us to implement our agenda,” Nahid said.
Nahid said that, the managing committees could not appoint teachers whenever they want. No teacher will be appointed without any certificate from Non-Government Teachers’ Registration & Certification Authority (NTRCA).
