Serie A announced on Friday that each team will have five substitutions per game for the rest of the season. The International Football Association Board approved FIFA’s proposal to introduce a temporary amendment to the current law last month which will allow for a maximum of five substitutes to be made per team. However, to avoid disruption to the game, each team will only have three opportunities to make substitutions.
According to the statement of Italy football federation, teams are still limited to three intervals for making substitutions per match, but clubs will be awarded a fourth interval to make a substitution in Coppa Italia ties going to extra time.
