At least 67 killing incidents took place in six upazilas of the district in 2015. The police had recovered the bodies of 83 persons, while the investigation was against 19 during the time. Identity of seven diseased could not be detected still.
The police sources said, among the recovered bodies, 26 was in Jhenaidah Sadar, 14 in Sailkupa, 15 in Moheshpur, 89 in Kotchandpur, 17 in Kaliganj and five in Harinakundu upazilas.
The sources said, after the investigation a number of dead were proved as unnatural deaths. Various reports from the police sources and media coverage said, in January four persons including an Awami League leader of Kaliganj upazila were killed.
In February the number of death risen to eight. Of them two persons were gunned down by the Border Security Force (BSF) of India at Lebutala area under bordering Moheshpur. In Jhenaidah Sadar two young men Dulal and Palash were gunned down by the miscreants at Defolbari village.
A total of eight persons were killed during March. A Madrashah student Miraj was brutally killed by the miscreants at Bhomradanga village under Kotchandpur upazila following ransom for Taka two lakh. The police was able to nab the killers. The sources said, in April six persons were killed where the police received bodies of three. In the next month the police recovered 11 bodies in different upazilas.
Of them an employee of Mobarakganj sugar mills was killed by her wife and son when the wife had developed an illicit relation in the area in May. The body of Mahaiuddin was buried in the cowshed of the house.
A college student Qamruzzaman was killed by his brother at Bherakhali village in Harinakundu upazila. A Sramik League activist Sona Mia was killed following rivalry in Kotvhandpur in the month. Four persons were killed in June. Of them a Bangladeshi national Jahangir was tortured to death allegedly by the BSF at Baghadanga area in Moheshpur. A Sechchhasewaak League activist Tarikul of Beparipara was killed at Gulshanpara in Jhenaidah municipal area.
The police in Kotchandpdur recovered the body of an unknown young man from Fazilpur village. The identity of the dead was yet to detect. Bodies of three unidentified persons were recovered during the month. An elderly man was killed at Kotchandpur, body of a young man was recovered from Fursundi village in Jhenaidah Sadar and another young man from Tribeni village in Sailkupa.
Six bodies including a woman were recovered in August. Some Abdul Wahab at Baroomoukuri village in Sailkupa was killed following village clash. Next month nine bodies were recovered from various upazilas. Among them the beheaded body of a Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal activist, and another unidentified woman and two rickshaw van paddlers were reported.
During the month a college girl Baishakhi Khatun of Mathurapur village in Harinakundu upazila was killed, while a rickshaw paddler was beaten to death at Rajapur village in Jhenaidah Sadar.

Taslima Khatun and her daughter Tasnim were burnt to death when Taslima’s son in law set them on fire spraying petroleum goods at Farashpur village in same upazila.
