Dhaka University (DU) vice chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique on Friday observed that creating separate cycle lanes in city roads can improve road safety.
The DU vice chancellor came up with the recommendations while addressing a programme on the ‘Cycle Lane Day 2015’, organised by Bangladesh Cycle Lane Implementation Council on the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the morning.
He noted that creating cycle lanes in the city can improve the road safety while cycling is also considered very useful for human health and environment.
Water Resources Secretary Dr Jafar Ahmed was also present at the program.
