Cumilla Warriors recorded a sensational six-wicket victory over Rangpur Rangers in their Twenty20 cricket match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wenesday.
Electing to bat first, Rangpur Rangers piled up a fighting total of 181 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Cumilla Warriors reached the winning target making 182 for the loss of four wickets remaining with just two deliveries.
One-down Sabbir Rahman of Cumilla Warriors notched up his team’s highest of 49. His 40-ball innings was belted with three fours and two sixes.
 Dawid Malan remained unbeaten with 42. His 24-ball quick-fire innings had three sixes and two fours. Malan was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Opener Soumya Sarkar hit 41. His 34-ball knock was laced with five fours and a sixer.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa, the other opener of Cumilla Warriors made 32 from 15 balls featuring four fours and two sixes.
Tom Abell, Mohammad Nabi, Makidul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman of Rangpur Rangers got one wicket each for 21, 25, 26 and 35 runs respectively.
Opener Mohammad Shahzad of Rangpur Rangers struck a stormy 61. His 27-ball innings was decorated with four sixes and seven fours.
Third-down Mohammad Nabi hit 26. His 20-ball knock saw three fours.
One-down Tom Abell made run-a-ball 25 including two fours.
Lewis Gregory hit 21 off 12 balls with two fours and one sixer.
Arafat Sunny and Nadif Chowdhury hit 15 (not out) and 15 runs respectively.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman of Cumilla Warriors bagged two wickets at the cost of 25 runs.
Soumya Sarkar, Sunzamul Islam and Al-Amin Hossain picked up one wicket each for 16, 38 and 45 runs respectively.
