A seminar on study in Sweden was held on Monday at the Central Gallery of Dhaka University (DU) Botany Department. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the seminar as chief guest. Sweden Alumni Network and Swedish Embassy in Bangladesh jointly organized the event.  
Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh Charlotta Schlyter, Dean of DU Faculty of Science Prof Dr Tofail Ahmed Chowdhury, Dean of Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof Dr Md. Imdadul Hoque, Chairman of the Department of Botany Prof Dr Rakha Hari Sarker, Chairman of the Department of Geology Prof Dr Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed, Prof Dr Nurul Islam of Botany Department, Chairman of Sweden Alumni Network Prof Dr Mohammad Zabed Hossain and Prof Dr Mohammad Shoeb of Chemistry Department addressed the function. Communication Officer of Embassy of Sweden Alim Bari presented the key-note paper in the seminar.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for undertaking joint collaborative research activities by the University of Dhaka and different universities in Sweden to further upgrade human civilization. He hoped that this seminar would play an effective and vital role for DU students to pursue their higher education in Sweden.
