Seminar on ‘Strategic leadership for sustainable economic development’ at BUP

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organized a two-day long international seminar on ‘Strategic Leadership for Sustainable Economic Development’, today Wednesday (16-11-2016) at Bijoy Auditorium of its campus at Mirpur Cantonment in the city. In the inaugural ceremony, Major General (Retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, rcds, psc, Security Affairs Advisor of Prime Minister was present as chief guest.
The chief guest said, sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present day world without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs. Many countries of the world have designed and implemented policies and strategies to make sustainable development and Bangladesh also is doing so. Respective governmental departments are working for making sustainable development.
On the Seminar, Malcolm H.B McDonald, Emeritus Professor of Oxford University; Dr Zahid Hussain, Lead Economist, South Asia Finance and Poverty Group, World Bank; Prof Dr. Manoj Pant, Centre for International Trade and Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Prof Dr Raquibul Anwar, Sr. Consultant, Colorectal and General Surgery, President and CEO, RAHETID were present as keynote speakers in the seminar.
Mentionable that Vice Chancellor of BUP Major General Md Salahuddin Miaji, rcds,psc and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO, High officials of military personnel, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors, Managing Director and Chairman of different Banks, Chairman of different corporate offices, Donor Agencies, Representatives of Research Organizations, Representatives of Multi-National companies, Electronic and Print media personnel, Representatives of Different NGOs, Teachers of public and private universities, registered members for the seminar, BUP teachers and students were also present to make the seminar successful.
