Business Desk :The Annual General Meeting and a special seminar on “Transforming Seed Industry in Bangladesh: Hope for Farmers” of Bangladesh Seed Association were held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center, Agargaon in the city on Saturday. Dr Nazmul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture was present as chief guest while Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, President of FBCCI and Anwar Faruque, Director General of seed wing of the Ministry of Agriculture, as special guests.The AGM was presided over by M Anis Ud Dowla, President of Bangladesh Seed Association. The seminar was organised in association with USAID, CNFA, the World Bank Group, Katalyst, Eastern Bank Limited and East-West Seed International. The keynote paper on the current and proposed seed policy of Bangladesh presented by Anwar Faruque followed by discussions of information and thoughts regarding the best possible way for the seed industry in the coming years.
