Seminar on role of Int’l Humanitarian Law to overcome humanitarian crisis held at CU

Faculty of Law, University of Chattogram (CU) has organised a seminar tattled
“Role of International Humanitarian Law to overcome humanitarian crisis ” in joint collaboration with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at A K Khan Law Faculty Auditorium on Thursday.
More than 500 law students from different public and private universities of Bangladesh attended the seminar.
The Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University Professor Dr. Iftekar Uddin Chowdhury was present as special guest, Dr. Abdou Latif Mback, Deputy Head of Delegation of ICRC, was present as Special guest while Dr. Khizir Hayat Khan, Former Director of Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh, and Professor Md. Zakir Hossain addressed as Discussant and Keynote speaker respectively at the seminar chaired by Professor ABM Abu Noman, Chairman and Dean of the faculty of law,University of Chittagong.
The seminare was designed to disseminate knowledge on International Humanatarian laws (IHL) amongst the enthusiastic teachers and students . The sessions aimed at highlighting the history, objective of IHL on the light of laws and Islam.After the discussion session , a question-answer session was also held at the seminar.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury remarked that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the best example of International Humanatarian Law. People create law and destroy it. So Each and every citizen of the world must maintain the laws.
Among others, Associate Professor Abdullah Al Mamun,Assistant Professor Sayed Ahsan Khalid and Assistant Professor Hasan Mohammad Roman were also present at the seminar.
