A daylong seminar on “Breeding for Durable Resistance Against Rice Blast to Reduce Rice Yield Loss and Fungicide Dependency” was held on Thursday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) Auditorium.
Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof Dr Md. Giashuddin Miah was present as chief guest and inaugurated the seminar. Senior Scientist Dr Bo Zhou, Genetics and Biotechnology Division of International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) was present as guest speaker and he presented the keynote speaker.
Prof Dr Md. Tofazzal Islam Head, Dept of Biotechnology BSMRAU presided over the seminar. The objectives of the training programs are trained up the graduate students of BSMRAU on Plant Disease Diagnosis and Plant Disease Management for faculty members.
