A day-long seminar on ‘Leadership Development and Financial Inclusion in a Digital Era’ was held at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia on Tuesday.
IU Economics Department organised the seminar at the Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman auditorium of the university around 11:00am.
IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the seminar as chief guest while Prof Dr Atiur Rahman, former governor of Bangladesh Bank delivered speech in the as chief discussant.
Among others, IU pro vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha were addressed here as special guests while Economics department chairman Prof Dr Debashish Sharma in the chair.
Prof Dr Abdul Muyeed, senior Professor of the department delivered welcome speech conducted by Mithil Farzana, lecturer of the department attended by the around 1500 students and teachers from various departments.
While addressing Prof Dr Atiur Rahman said, ‘the government should invest highest portion of the national budget in the education sector to develop the country properly.
Mentioning the students, he noticed that the student have to march to uplift the nation while the educated community could change the future of the country.
