Seminar on Justice held at Eastern University

The Faculty of Law at Eastern University organized a seminar on Justice titled ‘Doing Justice’ on Sunday at the seminar hall of the University. The seminar attracted a good number of reputed law practitioners from home and abroad.
Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Acting), Eastern University inaugurated the seminar. Engr. Kh. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Eastern University delivered the welcome speech.
Eminent Jurist and law practitioner Dr. Kamal Hossain, graced the programme with his presence as the Chief Guest. Ms. Amy Ray, Assistant United States Attorney and the Appellate Chief in the Western District of North Carolina, USA, Special Guest and keynote speaker of the seminar, presented her keynote speech titled ‘Doing Justice: A skill and a will’. Ms. Ray focused her presentation on the essential skills and the mental setup required for law practitioners to excel in their profession while serving humanity. Another speaker Md. Monzur Rabbi, Barrister-at-Law, delivered lecture on ‘Doing Justice through dispute resolution: A practitioner’s perspective’.
Dr. Kamal Hossain shared his experiences and views with the participants of the seminar and appreciated the role of Eastern University in producing quality law graduates for nation building. The programme ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. M. Zahurul Haq, Dean, Faculty of Law.
