The ULAB Social Welfare Club of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized a seminar on “Generation Equality Dialogue” at ULAB campus in Dhanmondi on Monday. The seminar was delivered by Farah Kabir, National Director of ActionAid Bangladesh, Actor and Director Afzal Hossain, and cartoonist Nasreen Sultana Mitu.
The seminar raised awareness of gender-based violence which persists in Bangladesh, and how to eliminate violence against women. A cordial atmosphere prevailed throughout the seminar, and a question-and-answer session was held with the speakers, university faculty members, students and guests.
Before the seminar an artwork exhibition titled #FemiToon was inaugurated by ULAB’s Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Shamsad Mortuza to observe 16 days of Activism to End Violence against Women. Prof Imran Rahman, Special Advisor to the ULAB Board of Trustees, the seminar’s distinguished speakers, students and faculty members were present at the inauguration ceremony.
The welcome speech and vote of thanks was given by Selima Quader Chowdhury, advisor to the ULAB social welfare club.
