Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organised seminars on ‘Livability and the Role of Local Government: Bangladesh Perspective’ and inaugurated ‘Environment Fest – 2022’ at Bijoy Auditorium.
The Environmental Club of BUP (EnCBUP) run by the Department of Environmental Science under Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) organized the programmes on Wednesday.
The theme of this programme was “Green Transition, Sustainable Solution”, said a press release.
Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Md Tazul Islam spoke on the occasion as the chief guest while BUP Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul-Alam was present as the special guest.
Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Public Administration Dr. SM Zobaidul Kabir presented the keynote papers.
The minister inaugurated ‘Environmental Fest-2022’ which has five segments namely Poster Presentation, Project Showcasing, Photography, Book Reading Competition, and Eco-Olympiad.
Tajul mentioned how waste can be reused through different types of waste management. He also discussed the causes of pollution in the environment and its remedies.
The minister urged all concerned to work together to create and maintain clean environment for future generations.
