A seminar on “disability and development” was held at Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur on Sunday. Dr Wazed International Training and Research Institute organised the seminar. This is the 28th seminar organized by the Institute on Research. Vice Chancellor of BRU and Chief of the Dr Wazed International Training and Research Institute Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO inaugurated the seminar at university’s Virtual Classroom in Academic Building 2.
Abdus Sattar Dulal, Founder and Executive Director of Bangladesh Disability Welfare Association was the chief speaker in the seminar. Research Officer of the Institute, Mehjabin Elahi was present on the occasion while Abu Sayem Mohammod Ahsan Habib, Scientific Officer of the Institute gave welcome speech.
Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO said, ‘Initiative will be taken soon to open the Disability Studies Department at this university and all steps will be taken to create a education-friendly environment for the disabled.’
The main discussant highlighted the position of the disabled people in Bangladesh and international level, through his discussion and thanked the vice chancellor for organizing such seminars.
Teachers of different departments, students, research fellows, and officials and employees of Dr Wazed International Training and Research Institute were presented in the seminar.
