Campus Report :The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication & IT and Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) jointly arranged a seminar on “Cyber Security & Information and Communication Technology Law” at the permanent campus of the BUBT in Dhaka recently. The slogan of the seminar was “Let safe Cyber World be Today’s Oath”.Prof Md Abu Saleh, Vice Chancellor of BUBT, attended the function as the chief guest with Prof Dr Mominul Huq, Dean of Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences, in the chair. Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor of BUBT, Md Mahbubur Rahman, Lecturer in CSE, Nazmul Hossain, Cyber Security Communication Officer of the ICT Division of Bangladesh Government, Shahrear Md Taposh, Communication Director, and Advocate Shuchana Ghatak of ‘Insight Bangladesh Foundation’ also attended the seminar.Samsuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor of CSE, delivered the welcome speech while M Azharul Haque, Associate Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, highlighted the significance of the Cyber Security. In his speech, Prof Md Abu Saleh emphasized on the adverse impact of cyber crime and hacking. He advised to be more innovative than the hackers by putting some recommendations to be followed. The seminar ended with “Question and Answer Session”. A good number of questioners participated in presence of huge gatherings with an aspiration to organize such type of seminars at BUBT in future to create social awareness among the students, teachers, officials and staff-members.
