A seminar titled “Raising Awareness on Cyber Security and ICT Act” jointly organized by ICT Division Insight Bangladesh and Southeast University (SEU) was held on Saturday at the Seminar Hall of SEU Banani premises.
It was organized as part of the government’s nationwide awareness program on ICT Act in at different levels. Pro Vice Chancellor of SEU Prof Dr Md Humayun Kabir Chowdhury was present at the inaugural session of the seminar as chief guest, while Dean (Acting), SSE, Prof Syed Fakhrul Hassan was in the chair. Chairman (Acting), Department of CSE Shahriar Manzoor delivered welcome speech and Chairman, Department of EEE and ICE Dr M Quamruzzaman delivered vote of thanks. Senior Lecturer, Department of CSE Rezwan AlIslam Khan delivered a technical speech at the seminar with a Power Point presentation.
Among others, Legal Support Analyst of Insight Bangladesh Suchana Ghatak and Director, Public Relations Atiqul Islam khan and a good number of teachers and students of SEU were present at the seminar.
Speakers underscored the necessity of raising awareness on cyber security in the country, mentioning pleasure for someone may bring agony for others. They urged the government to form a syllabus at school, college and university level to raise awareness about cyber crime. They hoped the seminar would be helpful in knowledge development among the students.
