UNB, Dhaka :
A daylong seminar, titled ‘BCIM-EC and Maritime Silk Route across the Bay’, will be held here on September 20. Centre for East Asia (Foundation), a non-profit and non-political independent study circle, will host the seminar.
PM’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi will attend the seminar as the chief guest.
Charge de Affaires, Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Qu Guangzhou and Myanmar Ambassador in Dhaka Myo Myint Than will address the seminar to be chaired and moderated by Prof Dr Sukamal Barua.
Prof Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Senior Research Fellow of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) will present papers at the seminar.
Diplomats, academics, former and serving bureaucrats, businesspeople and defence personnel will take part in the seminar.
The first meeting of the joint working group on the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (BCIM-EC) was successfully held on December 18 and 19 in Kunming officially setting up mechanisms to promote cooperation among the four nations.
