A seminar titled ‘Arsenic in Coconut Water’ was held at Islamic University (IU) on Saturday. The Environmental Science and Geography Department of the university arranged the meeting at the seminar room of Applied Science and Technology Faculty on the campus.
IU VC Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the seminar as the chief guest while Pro-VC Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha were present as special guests with departmental chairman Prof Dr SM Mostofa Kamal in the chair.
Additional Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department under the Education Ministry Dr M Mahmudul Haque delivered the keynote speech.
Moderated by lecturer of the department Iffat Ara, the seminar was attended, among others, by Dean of the Applied Science and Technology Faculty Prof Dr Momtazul Islam, former President of IUTA Prof Dr M Mahbubur Rahman and IU Proctor Prof Dr M Mahbubar Rahman.
