A seminar on implementation of newly- adopted B.Sc Honours chemistry curriculum was held in port city’s ‘Hotel Lords In’ on June 13.
The seminar was jointly organized by Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) and Chittagong University Chemistry department.
HEQEP is run under University Grants Commission (UGC), sponsored by the World Bank (WB).
During the seminar, a MoU was signed between Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury and representative from Friendrich-Schiller-University Jena, German.
Dr Iftekhar Uddin in the inaugural speech said, we have to march forward amid limited resources, saying the newly formation of higher study syllabus is laudable. He also thanked the HEQEP executives and the organizers. After signing the MoU, he also said the MoU with the German University will play an important role to the higher quality education. BGC Trust University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saruj Kanti Singho Hazari as the special guest said, HEQEP is working for the quality education and the chemistry department forwarded one step through the MoU deal.
With Prof Manir Uddin in chair, the seminar was also addressed by Dr Md Abdul Karim, dean of CU Science Faculty, Dr Md Sekandar Chowdhury, dean of arts faculty, CUTA President Dr Awrengojeb, General Secretary Sukanto Bhattacharwa, Acting Registrar Dr Kamrul Huda among others were present.
