A seminar on ‘Digital Innovation Challenge for Women, 2016’ was held on yesterday at United International University (UIU) jointly organised by UIU Career Counseling Canter and Women in Digital Bangladesh.
Prof. Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Vice Chancellor, United International University presided over the ceremonies while Mr. Obaidul Quader, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Rood Transport and Bridges, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest and Mrs. Selima Ahmad, President, Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Shameem Ahsan, President, Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS), Dr. Yasmeen Haque, Professor- Department of Physics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology A.K.M. Fahim Mashroor, CEO, Bdjob.com and Abul Khair Patowary, Chief adviser, Women in Digital were present as the Special Guest at the seminar.

 Obaidul Quader, Minister, Ministry of Rood Transport and Bridges stressed the need for equal rights of men and women across all political parties in the country. Women’s role in every sector should be recognized. He also added that for women empowerment men’s mindset towards women needs to be changed.  
 
Prof. Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Vice Chancellor, UIU said the main objective of this event to inspire women empowerment through technology & build women networking.

It was started from 28th January to 8th March 2016. Around 32 teams participated from whole country’s famous Universities and finally selected 13 teams to join in the Grand Final at 8th March.
In Grand Final competition Champion Team achieved 25000 taka, 1st Runner up Team got 15000 taka & 2nd Runner up Team got 10000 taka Prize Money. UGC Chairman honoured
