Selim Osman, newly elected parliament member with Jatiya Party ticket, on Tuesday took oath at a formal oath-taking-ceremony at the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) Bhaban, said a press release.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury administered the oath at 11am. Senior Secretary of Jatiya Sangsad Md Ashraful Maqbul conducted the programme.
Jatiya Party Chairman and Special Envoy to Prime Minister HM Ershad, Parliament Whips-Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker and Iqbalur Rahim, lawmakers – JP Secretary General Zia Uddin Bablu, Liakat Hossain Khoka and Md Shawkat Chowdhury – were present on the occasion.
Selim Osman was elected MP for Narayanganj-5 constituency in the by-polls held on June 26.
Earlier, the seat became vacant at the death of another JP MP Nasim Osman who is also brother of Selim Osman.
