Abdul Muqit Chowdhury :The blessed days of Maghfirat, the second phase of this holy month begins today, the eleventh Ramzan. These ten days are the best time for rozadars to beg pardon of Allah Rabbul Aalameen. His infinite mercy assures of forgiving human beings, who have committed sins. We should avail ourselves of the opportunity of being repentant on our sins. Otherwise displeasure and wrath of Allah will be our destiny. The Holy Quran reveals : “He (Allah) does not love an ungrateful sinner.” (2:276) “For Muslim men and women, –/For believing men and women,/ For devout men and women,/ For true men and women,/For men and women who are/Patient and constant, for men/And women who humble themselves,/For men and women who give/In charity, for men and women/Who fast (and deny themselves),/For men and women who/Guard their chastity, and/For men and women who/Engage much in God’s praise, –/For them has God prepared/Forgiveness and great reward.” (33:35, The Holy Quran : Translation and Commentary by A. Yusuf Ali) Many verses of the Holy Quran reveals about the forgiveness of Allah.. The Holy Quran reveals : “Say : O My severants who/Have transgressed against their souls!/Despair not of the mercy of God/: for God forgives/All sins : for He is/Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Sura Zumar 39 : 53, The Holy Quran : Translation and Commentary by A. Yusuf Ali).Hazrat Abdullah Ibne Masud narrated from the Messenger of Allah : “In every night of Ramzan a proclaimer on behalf of Allah goes on proclaiming, –O Searcher of welfare, come forward, and O Searcher of evils, go back and after this the Angel says, is there anyone seeking of Maghfirat (forgiveness) who will be forgiven? Is there any repentant whose repentance will be accepted? Is there any seeker, whose things of seeking will be given? This proclaiming continues through every night.” Rasulullah (SM) said, “By Allah! I seek Allah’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance for more than seventy times a day.” (Bukhari Sharif)Sincere repentance, seeking forgiveness of Allah and sticking to the principle of not committing sins again will help the rozadars to avail the forgiveness of Allah – Al Ghafur, Al Ghaffar, -‘All Forgiving’.
