Security of 402 mandaps in Kishoreganj ensured

Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bangalee Hindu community, will be celebrated at 402 mandaps in 13 Upazilas and 8 municipalities of Kishoreganj this year.
District Administration in Kishoreganj organised a preparation meeting ahead of the Durga Puja at the local Collectorate conference room on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Shamim Alam presided over.
It was addressed among others by Civil surgeon (CS) Dr. Mujibur Rahman, District Awami League General Secretary advocate M.A Afzol, ADC(General) Nazmul Islam Sarker, ADM Golam Mostafa, Additional SP Md.Mustaque, Hindu Kallan Trusti Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmick, Puja Udjapan Parishad President &;GP Advocate Bijoy shonkor Roy, CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, Journalist Prodeep Sarkar and Ex.Trusti Lipu Roy.
 The five-day long festival will begin on October 11 with due respect and religious fervor across the country and end on October 15 with immersion of the idols of goddess Durga and other deities.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said, special security measures are being taken to ensure security and peaceful celebrations during festival and all kinds of step will be taken to celebrate Durga Puja in a festive atmosphere.
The monitoring team will work at the district and upazila level.
Durga Puja will be held in every mandap in accordance with the health rules due to COVID-19, DC added.
