Security measures tighten in city for ongoing Test

The local administration has taken a tight security measure in the city for the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka ongoing second Test.
The authority has tighten up the extra security measure after the two teams arrived in Chittagong on Saturday to play the second and final Test of the SAHARA Cup Test series.
Apart from Police, Rapid Action Battalion, (RAB) Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the intelligent wing officers were seen in action making serious effort around the stadium to foil any unwanted incident on first day of the play.
The local organizers told BSS that the law enforcer officers have taken a special effort around the stadium to insure full safety for the players and fans.
Earlier, during West Indies U-19 team’s tour in the city on December last year an untoward incident happened during the country wide opposition party’s blockade program triggering the visitors to suspend the matches in middle of the tour.
Bangladesh Cricket Board director and former national team skipper Akram Khan told BSS over phone that the authority is trying to convince the Lankan that the highest precaution efforts has been taken to insure the safety for the visitors.
He said apart from carrying team bus and hotel of the players, the authority are keen to foil any untoward incidence around the stadium. Every vehicle and almost everyone is being bodily checked, only cars having security stickers are allowed inside the stadium. Even most of the journalist arriving on own, had to embark from the vehicle and forced to walk almost a kilometer to inter the stadium.
