Security measures taken for Xmas, 31st night celebrations in Khulna

Metropolitan Police has taken here adequate security measures in the city to observe the Christmas Day and 31st night and English new-Year to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festivals.
“KMP would not allow any programme in the city’s main streets on the X-mas day and 31st night for the sake of peaceful law and order situation,” said KMP Commissioner Nibash Chandra Majhi.
IGP said on Tuesday in a high officials meeting for special drives to nab listed terrorists, anarchists, bombers, militants and to recover illegal arms and ammunitions to ahead of municipality polls, he said.
During the visit, IGP attended different programmes and inaugurated a newly construction building of Khalishpur Police Station in Khulna.
Sources said, a total of 16 check posts were set up in different entry points in the city and set up electronics devices including close circuit cameras at vulnerable places.
Other law enforcers including Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to be deploy in the city’s important streets during the festival.
Additional Police Commissioner and media coordinator of KMP Moniruzzaman Mithu said over 2,000 police to be deploy in the city during the two festival celebrations.
