UNB, Dhaka :
A security guard was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants in Mirpur area of the capital early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Shahjahan, 62, son of late Wahab Ali of Kaisal village in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur district. He was a security guard of Ahmed Food Products.
Mojammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said miscreants attacked Shahjahan and chopped him inside the building of Ahmed Food Products located behind Purabi Cinema Hall at Pallabi in Mirpur section 7 sometime in the night, leaving him seriously injured.
Sumon, another security guard of Ahmed Food Products, noticed Shahjahan’s body lying in a pool of blood inside the building when he came to the office in the morning.
The injured was rushed to DMCH where he succumbed to his injures around 9:30 am.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
