Staff Reporter :
Police have recovered body of a security guard from the sidewalk in front of Khidmah Hospital in the capital on Wednesday morning.
The body bore marks of injuries in the head, face and ears. Police suspected that the security guard was killed being hit hard by a heavy object.
The victim Kazi Salauddin alias Masum’s, 55. Body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Khilgaon police station’s Inspector (investigation) Sujit Chowdhury.
He said Salauddin worked as a security guard in several shops at Khilgaon intersection. The CCTV footage in-front showed that some unidentified persons were coming to Khilgaon intersection with a pickup van.
Salauddin had a quarrel with them. Later they went beyond the CCTV camera. And what happened after that was no longer seen, he said.
The official said that three shops’ locks were broken last night where Salauddin used to work as a security guard. They suspected that the thieves killed Salauddin using heavy object.
The victim’s son Saddam Hussein told reporters that his father had joined as security guard around 15 days earlier. He went to his duty after dinner at 11pm on Tuesday. A man called him over cell phone and informed his father death.
Farukul Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Khilgaon Police Station said that the case is being under processed. None was arrested so far.
