Security beffed up in Kishoreganj ahead of Pahela Baishakh

Kishoreganj District Administration has taken additional security measures to avert any untoward incident on Pahela Baishakh , the first day of the Bengali New Year 1424.
A meeting of law and order review committee was held at local collect orate conference room with District Magistrate Md. Azimuddin Biswas in the chair on Sunday noon.
Acting Police Super Md. Rakib Khan, A.D.M Md. Abdul Awal, Additional S.P Md. Jamal Uddin, 13 UNO’s of the district, Senior Magistrates, RAB- 14 Kishoreganj Camp Commanding Officer, Deputy Director of Ansar and VDP, Jail Super were also present.
Acting Police Super Md. Rakib Khan said that Additional Police, plain cloth personnel will be kept for vigil at important places including upazilas headquarter on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh.
Special security measures will be taken at the Baishakhi Mela, Mongal Shova Jatra vunues. Various socio-cultural organisations including the district administration have chalked out an elaborate programme to celebrate the festival by the people from all walk of life.
Administration will bring out the main Baishakhi procession carrying festoons, play cards, banners and singing Baishakhi and folk songs from Government Boys School play ground at 7.30 am to welcome the Bangla New Year- 1424.
All entry and exit points of the town will be monitored round the clock.
RAB- 14, have taken special security to maintain Law & Order during the festivity.
Brisk preparations afoot here to Khanjalir Fair
Bagerhat Correspondent adds Brisk preparations are afoot here to hold 5-day long Khanjalir Mela also known as Dighir Mela (fair) around the holy shrine of great saint Hazrat Peer Khaja Khan Jahan Ali (peace be on him), situated on the north bank of Khanjahan Ali Dighi (tank) 7 kilometers away from Bagerhat district town will commence on Tuesday on the occasion of full moon night of the Bengali month Chaitra.
 In this connection a number of stalls were already sprung around the holy shrine. Various beautiful and attractive handicrafts appear in the Mela from the different places of the country.
On the occasion thousand of devotees from Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Khulna, Satkhira, Jhalokathi, Barguna, Barisal, Bhola, Joessore, Gopalganj, Faridpuir, Narail etc. districts will pay a visit to the holy shrine and offere Fateha. The fair has been holding there for long 6 centuries.
Bagerhat district administration and police administration have already taken all precautionary steps to maintain peace and order in the fair.
