Possible militant attack: Security beefed up ahead of Eid

Police have strengthened security across the country to avoid any untoward incident or militant attack on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Additional members of law enforcers have been deployed in different important and worship places all over the country.
Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims this year will be celebrated on Saturday next (August 1).
Letters have been issued to all police units for taking
 utmost precaution and appropriate security measures.
Law enforcers said militant may make airports, foreign missions, especially those of US, India and Myanmar, or special individuals or Shia-Ahmadiyya shrines, shrine-centric mosques, churches, pagodas and temples their target for carrying out any untoward incident. Although the date of the attack was not mentioned, the letter stated that the attack may be carried out at 6-7 am or 7-10 pm. The age of the attackers is believed to be between 15-30 years.
Monirul Islam, head of the Counter Terrorism Unit, said the militants usually become aggressive during festivals like Eid. “So, we’re taking extra precautions.”
