The local administration imposed section 144 in Rampur area in Hajiganj upazila from Saturday evening to Sunday evening as two groups of BNP called their programmes at the same venue and time on Sunday.
The restriction will remain in force till 6pm on Sunday.
Sheikh Mohammad Murshidul Islam, upazila nirbahi officer of Hajiganj made the announcement on Saturday evening.
Police said Kalochow Daklhin union BNP committee arranged a programme at Rampur High School ground for forming the committee on Sunday afternoon while the followers of upazila BNP convener Alamgir Kabir also fixed a meeting at the same venue at that time.
Apprehending trouble, the local administration announced the restriction to maintain the law and order.
