Secretary of Bridges Ministry Khondakhar Anwarul Islam visited the site for Karnaphuli tunnel on Thursday. He also held a meeting with the State Minister Saifujjaman Chowdhury Jabed after the visit and discussed about the land and other things regarding the construction of the tunnel.
In the meeting, different issues about the tunnel was displayed before the State Minister Saifujjaman Chowdhury on projector. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chittagong Division Shamsul Arefin, ADC Daulotujjaman, Project Director Ifthekhar Kabir, Deputy Director of Project Rabiul Islam and Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Anwara Goutom Baroi were also present at that time.
A contraction company named Communication Company Limited will construct the tunnel on Karnafhuli River.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping inaugurated the construction of the Karnaphuli tunnel on last October 14.
