BSS, Dhaka :
Bangladesh Secretariat, hub of the government’s administrative work, has been connected with the high speed WiFi network to bring dynamism in administrative activities.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division, yesterday inaugurated the WiFi network at a ceremony in the conference room of the ministry of public administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Palak said the uses of uninterrupted broadband internet through the WiFi would bring dynamism in administrative work.
“The administrative activities of the government were being hampered by the tangle of red-tape, but I believe such kind of modern initiatives would reduce the impact of the tangle gradually,” he added.
Now the officials and employees of the Secretariat as well as guests can use the uninterrupted internet round the clock.
National ICT Infra-Network for Bangladesh Government Phase-II (Info-Sarker) project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology has installed the WiFi network.
“Now, the secretariat will be connected with the WiFi network round the clock and any one can avail the network from anywhere in the secretariat using 506 access points,” said the state minister.
Palak informed that over 18,000 government offices are being brought under the connectivity to expedite the administrative activities.
