The 2nd two-day warm-up match between Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI and England XI also ended in draw at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on Monday.
Replying to BCB XI’s 294 for all in the first innings, England XI resumed the first innings in the morning with the overnight score of 2/0 in 4 overs and could take the tally to 256/10 in 78.2 overs despite a strong opening partnership.
The opening pair of Haseeb Hameed and Ben Duckett added 90 runs on the scoreboard in 27 overs before both of them retired out scoring 57 and 60 respectively.
However, the BCB XI bowlers captured the rest eight wickets, giving the home side a lead of 38 runs.
Gary Balance scored unbeaten 36 while Ben Stokes (25), skipper Joe Root (24), Chris Woakes (23) and Moeen Ali (15) were the other double figure scorers for England.
Leg spinner Tanveer Haider showed his calibre bagging four wickets for 53 runs in 14 overs, forcing the national selectors to rethink about him.
Following his brilliant performance, he was asked to stay in Chittagong to train with the Bangladesh national team instead of joining Rangpur Division squad for playing the ongoing first-class NCL.
Subashis Roy, Mosaddek Hossain and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket each for the BCB XI.
On day-1 on Sunday, BCB XI skipper Soumya Sarkar won the toss and elected open the first innings with bat.
The hosts played 74.4 overs for their collection with opener Abdul Mazid’s knock of 106 off 95 balls. Nazmul Hossain Shanto played a patient 130-ball 72 innings.
Zafar Ansari bagged four wickets for 68 runs in 16.4 overs. Gareth Batty and Stuart Broad took two wickets each while Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes took one wicket apiece for the side.

The both sides played two-day warm-up match that also ended in draw at the same venue on Saturday after being disrupted by rain.
Winning the toss, England XI opened the first innings with bat on day-2 after the 1st day’s play was called off and scored 137/4 in stipulated 45 overs.
In reply, Sabbir Rahman-led BCB XI scored 136/4 in 44 overs.
