The Election Commission has announced the schedule for polls in 117 Upazilas in 52 districts on Feb 27 in the second phase. Army will be deployed to maintain law and order like in the first phase.
The last date for submission of nomination is Feb 2, while the last date for the
withdrawal of candidature is Feb 27, according to the schedule announced by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad on Thursday. Nominations will be scrutinised on Feb 4.
“We have decided to deploy army like in the previous Upazila polls,” the CEC said.
In the first phase, 102 Upazilas from 40 districts will go to polls on Feb 19.
