Second phase of elections to 61 municipalities will be held on January 16, the Election Commission announced today.
EC Senior Secretary Md Alamgir announced the schedule at a press briefing at the EC office yesterday evening.
According to the schedule, the last date for submitting nomination papers is December 20, the EC will scrutinise nomination papers on December 22 and the last date for withdrawal
of candidacy is December 29.
Of the 61 municipalities, election of 29 municipalities will be conducted through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and rest with traditional ballot papers, said the EC secretary.
