Under the auspices of Chattogram Medical College Patients Welfare Samity and the financial supports of Taher Brothers Ltd, a 15-beds CCU-2 unit for the cardiac patients was inaugurated yesterday by the city mayor AJM Nasiruddin as chief guest. President the PWS and Director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital Brig.Gen. Mohsen Uddin Ahmed presided over it.
President of BMA , Chattogram Chapter Prof. Dr. Mujibul Hoque Khan, Vice Principal of CMC Prof. Dr.Nasiruddin Mahmud , Head of Cardiac Deptt Prof. Dr Prabir Kumar Das, Deputy Director of Social Services Department Md. Shahidul Islam, Managing Director of Taher Brothers Alhaj Abul Bashar and the general secretary of chattogram press club Chowdhury Farid were present in it as special guests.
General Secretary of PWS and Social Service Department Officer Avijit Saha delivered address of welcome in it was moderated by Hafez Md. Amanullah of PWS. Vice Principal o f CMC Dr. Nasiruddin hailed the PWS and Taher Brothers for their generous help for the cardiac patients.
Prof Prabir Kumar, Head of Cardiac Department told that CMCH was running with only 16 beds CCU earlier which was totally difficult for us to provide proper cares to the cardiac patients but following the addition of new unit CCU-2 , it will be eased to provide more seats for the cardiac patients. The chief guest in his brief address emphaised the need of more CCU units in the large public hospital.
