The Cardiff International School, Dhaka (CISD), a leading English-medium school in the city organised a “Seasonal Organic Fruits Festival” on Tuesday to give the new generation a taste of chemical-free fruits as well as acquaint them with local fruits. Principal Head of School GM Nizam Uddin opened the daylong festival in the auditorium of the school at Dhanmondi. Students, teachers as well as officials and employees took part in the festival.
About 25 varieties of fruits including mango, blackberry, jackfruit, litchi, banana, papaya, guava, pineapple, palm, “jamrul”, “karamcha”, “chalta”, “orboroi”, “kamranga”, water lemon were displayed at the festival.
At the end of the festival, the students, teachers and staff of the school were entertained with the fruits.
While speaking Nizam urged all to avoid chemical-laced fruits and give attention to raise gardens of local fruits.
