The government has constituted a five-member search committee to suggest names for appointment against two vacant deputy governor posts of Bangladesh Bank.
Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) chairman Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad will head the committee.
The other members of the search panel are newly appointed Bangladesh Bank governor Fazle Kabir, BIDS director general Dr KAS Murshid, economist and Agrani Bank chairman Zaid Bakht, and additional secretary to the Banking
and Financial Institutions Division of the Finance Ministry Gokul Chand Das.
Gokul Chand Das will act as the member secretary of the committee, said sources at the Banking and Financial Institutions Division.
After the resignation of Dr Atiur Rahman as the BB governor over the heist of $101 million from the central bank’s account with US Federal Reserve Bank, the government also removed its two deputy governors-
Abul Quasem and Nazneen Sultana.
