Law enforcement officials believe that extremist groups could create chaos in the country centering the ongoing sculpture issue. That is why they have started watching extremists all over the country, and social media.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said Police on Sunday arrested four people in connection with vandalism of Bangabandhu’s sculpture in Kushtia. He said, ‘Two students came out of a local madrasa named Ibne Masood at night and broke the sculpture of Bangabandhu. One of them is named Abu Baker. The other is Nahid. Alamin and Yusuf have also been arrested. “We will not allow any anarchy centering the sculpture issue.” He added.

AFM Al Kibria, Deputy Commissioner of the cyber crime investigation unit of the counter-terrorism unit, told the New Nation that many people were making provocative posts on the sculpture issue.
