An incident of scuffle in between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League occurred at Laldighi students rally on Monday in presence of City Awami League President ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, General Secretary AJM Nasiruddi and the central General Secretary of Chhatra League Nazmul Alam Siddiqui .
Following the sporadic factional clashes of the BCL, the entire area of Laldighi became panicked . Later after intervention of the senior leaders of the ruling party and police , the situation brought under control. Mentionable that city unit of chatra league organized a huge student rally at Lalldighi Maidan on Monday afternoon aimed at resisting the militant activities in Chittagong College and Mohsin college by the shibir activists. Former mayor and city AL President Mohiuddin Chowdhury and city General secretary AJM Nasiruddin graced the occasion as chief guest and special guest o n the occasion respectively. Central chatra league General Secretary Nazmul Alam Siddiqui was the main speaker of the rally.
Eye witnesses sources said a faction of BCL chanted slogans in favour of Nasir Bhai while Nasiruddin was delivering speech .
When Mohiuddin Chowdhury began delivering speech, this pro-Nasir Group students left the venue with slogans of Nasir Bhai, Nasir Bhai.Centring the slogans, clash erupted between two groups of the BCL with scuffle and altercation each others. Following the intervention of the chatra league city President Imran Ahmed Imu and the senior leaders of the ruling party, the situation came under control, sources said.
