The Supreme Court’s chamber bench will continue conducting virtual judicial functions through using information technology till further notice amid ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Justice Md Nuruzzaman, chamber judge of the SC’s Appellate Division, will sit in the chamber court from 11:30am to hold hearing and dispose of cases on August 12, 18 and 25, according to a notification
issued by the SC administration today. A six-member full bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has been virtually holding hearing and disposing of cases for five days every week since July 19.
On August 6, the chief justice decided to run both regular and virtual proceedings of the High Court from this week for the interest of lawyers and litigants.
Chief justice took the decision at a full court meeting with the judges from both the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Supreme Court.
The lawyers, who are interested to attend the physical court, will move cases before the physical HC benches, while others will move cases before virtual HC benches.
