A two-day scientific conference began at the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) on Saturday with a view to creating awareness on food safety, one health and blue economy.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will inaugurate the conference titled ’13th Annual Scientific Conference 2016′ at CVASU academic building at 4pm.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Promoting Food Safety, One Health and Blue Economy”.
The education minister will also lay foundation stone of “Research and Farm Based Campus” of CVSAU in Hathazari upazila of the district around 10.30am on the same day.
CVASU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Goutam Buddha Das revealed these at a press conference at Chittagong Press Club on Friday.
Education Minister will inaugurate the conference as chief guest while Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Noakhali Science and Technology University Prof Dr M Abul Hossain will present key-note paper in the conference.
VC of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India, Dr S Thilagar, founder VC of CVASU Dr Nitish Chandra Debnath, Team Leader of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Dr Erick Bram, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Prof Dr Mahmudur Rahman will attend the conference as special guests.
CVASU registrar Mirza Faruk Imam, proctor and CVASU Teachers’ Association president Prof Goutam Kumar Debnath and deans of different faculties of the university, among others, were present at the press conference.
