Some academics at a discussion highlighted the enormous aspects of expanding science education towards building digital Bangladesh and emphasized the need for its furthermore expansion.
They mentioned there is no alternative to building science-based skilled and knowledgeable human resources to take the nation forward as the demand of information and communication technologies is gradually increasing.
They said this yesterday while addressing the second founding anniversary celebration of Rajshahi University Science Club (RUSC) at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium. ‘Committed to Build Up a Science Oriented Generation’ was the main theme of the event.
RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Mijanuddin and Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with RUSC President Arif Jahangir in the chair.
Students Adviser Prof Mijanur Rahman and RUSC Advisers Prof Tariqul Hassan, Prof Sadequl Arefin and Prof Ananda Kumar Shaha and General Secretary Khairul Hassan also spoke.
Prof Mijanuddin said science teachers should play due role towards substantial and sustainable boosting the number of science-minded students as they are very important for flourishing the sector of information and communication technology.
