Proshanta Boyragi, an inhabitant of village Barabaria and an Asstt, teacher of Chinguri S.M.Rakibur Maddhymik Bdidylaya of Chitlmari Upazila in the district was seriously injured when armed miscreants inflicted severe cut injuries on him with sharp knives on Sunday .
He is now fighting for life in the National Heart Institution in Dhaka.
Locals said that at the night a gang of armed miscreants raided his village house and began to stab him seriously. Then the innocent teacher cried out for help. On hearing the cry as soon as the neighbouring people rushed to the spot the miscreants fled away.
He was immediately admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital. Considering his critical condition he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later he was transferred from there to National Heart Institution where he is now under intensive care.
In this connection Dilip Kumar Sarkar told the newsmen that he visited the place of occurrence and necessary steps are being taken against the culprits responsible for the incident.
