A schoolgirl was killed after a wall had fallen on her in the city’s Dakshin Khan on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Rakiba (8), a student of class three of Fatehabad Government Primary School. She was the daughter of Ripon Mia, police said.
Quoting the witnesses, Dakshin Khan Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamimur Rashid Talukder said that Rakiba was returning from her school and met the tragic death. She died on the spot at around 11:00am.
Police handed over the body to the victim’s family without post mortem after an understanding with the Rakiba’s family and the school managing committee, he added.
