A schoolgirl was killed after rape allegedly by her cousin and his friend at Yarpur village in Naldanga upazila on Monday.
The victim was a resident of the village and a class V student of Yarpur Primary School.
Police sources said victim’s cousin Moborok Hossain Kalu with his friend Mithun took the girl from her school to a place telling about buying her chocolates.
Later locals found her body in a mango orchard adjacent to the sluice gate area at the village in the evening.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to sadar hospital for an autopsy. Police arrested Kalu from Sherkol area of Singra upazila and Mithun from his house.
Agitated people vandalised the house of accused Kalu.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sherdanga police station, confirmed the incident.
