A nine grader school girl from Moralhat village of Baro Palashbari union in Thakurgaon’s Baliadangi upazila was gang-raped. At present the victim is under treatment at Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital.
According to locals and family, the victim schoolgirl’s father and brother are in jail on the verdict of the mobile court of Baliadangi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO). On her way to meet them, she was kidnapped and gang-raped.
It is known that on Friday (September 9) when the victim was coming from Baliadangi to the district town, 5-6 people including Aslam and Babul of the same area kidnapped him by putting a knife on her throat.
Later, the schoolgirl fainted due to organized rape. Then at around 12
o’clock in the night, the locals found him lying in Sri Kristapur Iksu farm of the district and brought her to the hospital.
On Saturday (September 10), lying in a hospital bed, victim told the media that her father and brother were sent to jail by the neighboring uncles due to a land dispute. While coming to see them, ‘that uncle’ got into his auto-rickshaw and held a knife on her throat.
Later she fell unconscious in fear. When she regained consciousness, she saw six people surrounding her in a room.
At this time she lost consciousness again due to their sexual abuse. Then when she regained consciousness, she saw that she was under treatment at Sadar Hospital. Her mother says, we don’t have any men in our house. Among the two sons, one son is absconding, the other son and husband are in jail .
The girl came to see them on Friday and was subjected to physical and mental torture. I don’t know what to do now?
The nurse on duty at Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital said that the victim’s genitals were damaged as a result of the torture. There are 4 stitches. There was also a wound in the head and a knife injury in the stomach.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baliadangi Police Station Khairul Anam said, I have heard the matter. However, I have not received any complaint or statement in this regard so far.
Legal action will be taken if complaints are received, OC said.
