A schoolgirl apparently committed suicide by hanging herself with a tree at Jaintapur in Sylhet on Wednesday afternoon.
Deceased was identified as Priyanka Biswas, 14, daughter of Nipul Biswas of Chhailakhel village and a class VI student of Sharighat High School.
As is her daily routine, Priyanka left school at tiffin break around lunch time. Later locals found her hanging from a tree beside her school, said the Headmaster Badiuzzaman.
She was rushed to the Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared her dead.
